(KNSI) – A St. Cloud man faces charges after authorities say they found fake Percocet pills and a handgun with its serial number removed during a search warrant Thursday.

The Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force says it learned about a person selling fake Percocet pills containing fentanyl that may be linked to several drug overdoses in the region.

After investigators bought some of the pills from the suspect, the task force issued a search warrant for 27-year-old Abdiaziz Ibrahim’s home in the 2000 block of 27th Street Southeast in St. Cloud. The St. Cloud Police Department SWAT team was also involved in the search.

The task force says the search warrant revealed more pills and a handgun with its serial number scratched off in the home.

Ibrahim has been arrested and booked into the Sherburne County Jail. He faces charges of third-degree sale of a controlled substance, first-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number.
