Kris Valentine

On-Air: Weekdays 2pm – 7pm

If my name sounds familiar, it’s because this is my 3rd time living and working in the awesome St. Cloud area. I’ve been on the air around the country for years, including Cedar Rapids, St. Cloud, Colorado Springs, Denver, Portland, OR, Minneapolis, St. Cloud, again, as part of the Wild Country morning show, back to the Twin Cities, Alexandria, MN, and now back in St. Cloud, where I’m now excited to call home on my unique journey to entertain.

I currently live in St. Cloud with my co-host, Chelsea Lee, believe it or not, as we’ve been together now for more than 4 years on and off-air. We have two dogs, Daisy and Delilah, who shed way too much, at least according to me and my vacuum. I’m also a proud father to two amazing girls, Abigail and Kaitlyn who are growing up way too fast.

When not on the air, I spend some of my free time streaming various shows, including Pawn Stars, Storage Wars, American Pickers, various food network shows, and pretty much any documentary I can find. With the rest of my limited free time, you can find me messing around on my computer, my PS5, or playing pickleball, which I have just discovered, as our community has new courts. Is there a documentary on this glorious game yet?

It feels so good to be back home here at Wild Country 99, entertaining and hanging out with you on the air. I look forward to meeting you at our next event or around town.

On-Air: Weekdays 2pm – 7pm

Wow, life runs in crazy circles. Fate? Destiny? I believe in both. I’m Chelsea and I am back where my broadcasting career began, in St. Cloud! I am a proud alumni of SCSU where I spent five years reveling in Mass Communication. My forte was TV News…dreaming (and working like crazy) to become the next Diane Sawyer. Since then I’ve lived and worked on both coasts, from Washington DC to Washington state, and eventually returned to the blessed Midwest. My dream came true: bringing back local TV news to my hometown, Alexandria, for an electrifying and brief few years. Capturing stories, celebrating community and breaking news is an intense passion of mine. I also served with multiple non profits, championing causes close to my heart to help change lives and try to make the world a better place. During the pandemic, my journey had me broadcasting on the radio with someone who was a teacher, a respected mentor and then grew into a best friend and partner in life. After four years together as a morning show, I am thrilled to be back on air with Kris Valentine and continue to do what we love…connecting businesses with communities and helping both grow while making people laugh and enjoy a break from the everyday humdrum.
I’d be nowhere without my family. My girls have four legs. Daisy and Delilah are my rescue dogs and have brought me so much joy. We love snacks, naps, and long walks on the beach. I also have another love, Dusty, my horse of over 24 years. Sure, I’ve been bucked…dragged…bit…kicked…even trampled. But…our adventures have helped wipe away more tears than any he might have caused.  The grace of God and that horse have made me stronger than most. My beloved animals have taught me patience, trust,  resilience, and living in the moment. I wish for everyone to experience that unconditional, unfailing love at least once in their life. My human family is never that far away, and my biggest fans. They keep me humble and going strong. I’m blessed to be able to share my life, to hear other’s stories, and to use these God given gifts to make an impact with everything I have in my heart and mind.

From the girl who was told “talks too much” in class, to talking for a living, I am so grateful for each day and what the future brings. Thank you for sharing even one minute of your day with me. It matters!
